Agave Information Solutions is a Scottsdale software development firm founded by Jason Jacoby in 2008. We build custom software, database architecture, and data infrastructure, and we build websites and do local SEO for Arizona businesses.

The Founder

Jason Jacoby began his career in technology in 1996, and in 1997 he founded Tempest Telecom, an ISP that became the first Internet roaming service to provide access on all 7 continents. Tempest built one AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) platform that handled voice, dialup, WiFi, and satellite connections for users anywhere in the world.

Tempest was acquired by a Canadian ISP in 2008, the year Jason founded Agave Information Solutions. Since then, Agave has built software and web applications for businesses across Arizona and beyond, including a video archive of about two petabytes. Jason also maintains a historical archive of the 1989-2012 international telecom industry he helped build.

How We Work

Website projects are quoted as fixed-scope work: one number for the whole job, agreed before anything starts, with the scope written down. No open meter and no surprise invoice. Software and data work (.NET modernization, database architecture, large data platforms) is quoted after a written assessment of time and scope. For ongoing systems work we prefer long-term retainers, because knowing your systems well means faster fixes and better architecture decisions. Every project gets an architecture plan before development starts, working increments every one to two weeks, and documentation your team can use without us.
